I'd use SkyFire a whole lot more -- even make it my default -- if I were able to copy text from a website with it. Every browser I've tried over the past 15 years, in both desktop and mobile flavours, had that vital function -- accept for Skyfire. Sure, I've mentioned this before, but I just wanted to emphasize it.
It's great that Skyfire offers access to virtually any site on the web, but the information I gain that way is useless unless I can put it somewhere on my device for offline reading and reference, so I don't kill my battery studying it online and trying to memorize it. Some surfers may have photographic memories, but mine is just average, i.e. not good enough to rely on. Now, what was I talking about? wink.gif
Maybe an alternative would be to save the whole web page, but SkyFire can't do that, either.
Another thing that bears repeating is the absence of a "find in page" feature.

I've been pushing for this feature as well, Copy & Paste hopefully will makes its way into the next major release. I've been able to paste url's copied from somewhere else though never from within the browser itself.

I'm not too concerned about URLs, although it would be nice to have some way of revealing the underlying URL of a link before following it. It's a feature of PIEPlus, which I installed as an add-on to PIE several years ago, and shows up in the tap & hold context menu.

The text that I was referring to was the body text.

I know it is not the same thing as copy and paste, but perhaps a printscreen utility would be handy for meeting the need you describe.

I already thought of that, as I have a good screen capture utility that lets me assign a hardware button for taking screenshots, but for various reasons I'd prefer having the text available as a plain-text file.

I suppose in a way it would be like taking a screenshot of a screenshot, since the web pages in Skyfire resemble low-res screenshots on my device.

I once highlighted some text accidentally by running the stylus across it with the site navigation mode selected (i.e. screen drag disengaged for dealing with Google Maps), but couldn't get my selection onto the clipboard, even with CTRL C.

So far the only browser that does copy paste is Bolt in my Satio.

Pocket Internet Explorer (yuck) can do it in my device, and so can UCWEB and Opera Mobile (although OM 10 beta 3 makes it more difficult). Mozilla's Minimo used to let me copy and paste (the browser itself was otherwise useless on my device). Oh, and Iris had text selection, too. You tapped the beginning and end of the text with the shift key engaged to make a selection.

Unfortunately, the use of the shift key for text selection is no longer supported in many cases, since newer on-screen keyboards only recognize the shift key for switching between upper and lower case. The CTRL key seems to be on its way out, too.
