Hi,
Just downloaded version 1.5 and it hangs pretty much immediately when connecting via Wifi. Can not click on any links on the page and only thing that is responding is the menu's "exit skyfire" so at least i can close it down. If lucky i get to the start page but can not even load all rss feeds before it already hangs.
Secondly it takes ages to acquire connection via wifi where Nokia browser goes in ten times faster.
And third, when closing skyfire the wifi connection stays open after skyfire closes. Need to close the connection manually every time.
Any idea of what is going on ?
The previous version had the same issues but they occur only occasionally.
And the phone was Nokia E71 with latest software in. Just updated from Nokia pages a week or so ago...

I was seeing problems similar to these you are describing, but I found that moving closer to my WiFi access point made the problem go away.
I'm using a Nokia N97; you have the E71?
Do you use a cell carrier as well as WiFi? Does that make a difference?
Yep, phone is E71 and using only wifi at the moment as my company sim card does not have data activated.
I been trying with our office wifi with good signal (strenght around 75% according to Nokia connection manager) and also with my apartment wifi router sitting right next to it (less than 1 meter away) so i do not believe it is the signal strenght itself.
It now hangs all the time after upgrading to version 1.5. Also after it hangs and i exit the application it leaves the wifi connection open and i need to manually disconnect to be able to get connectivity back for any applications.
Previous version did work and was fast, much faster than Nokia browser and hang only occasionally (probably as the connection was dropped sometimes). Version 1.5 seems to be faster still but hangs after couple of minutes.
It starts to load the page and i can see the bar at the bottom as "loading" but then just hangs while loading the page. After that only response i get is from "exit skyfire" and after exiting i need to manually disconnect the wifi connection and start over.
Did remove the application and reinstalled couple of times without any luck.
I did update the Nokia E71 device software with Nokia Ovi suite last week. I believe i'm now running version 300.21.012

As I said, I was seeing something similar, and it may be coincidence that the problems went away for me when I moved closer to the WiFi router.
Things could be a bit out-of-tune today with all the new downloads and installs of the new release. Maybe give it another try tomorrow and let us know if you still are seeing these problems.
I don't think the firmware update would be the problem, but I can't say for certain.
Thanks Dave, will do.
I still think the product is awesome and quite unique and really hope i can continue using it with my phone.
E71 is the best phone so far Nokia or anyone else has come up with that fits my needs (i'm not into touch screens etc) so i'm not going to swap it

dave,
thanks to skyfire for the update. i have not experienced any problems with wifi and the e71. i have only tried it on my home network but it seems to work fine. granted, right now as i use it i am right next to the router but if i experience any distance problems at home i will post. one thing i wish skyfire would adjust is the timeout at approximately 20 minutes when i am streaming (e.g. xmradio online). again this is a minor inconvenience and i understand why it is this way but perhaps a user initiated option to prolong the stream might work. thanks again the browser is a great product.

For me it's still the same.
I can get into my start page and open a web page (www.hs.fi) from my defined rss feed. Once the page opens it is ok but clicking on any link on that page will see it hang.
Btw, i'm in Singapore and accessing pages mainly in scandinavia if that makes any difference.
Also i noticed some power management issues but not sure if SF related. After playing around with it is started to recharge my battery and after around 8 hrs it was still not recharged. Removed SF from my phone and now it is working ok. Maybe wifi connection left open by SF maybe something else.
As it works ok with burns, could it still be firmware related. Burns, what version your running ?

i am running the original 100. version of the firmware that came with the phone. i haven't had any issues with the phone and see no advantage in the 300 or 400 versions of the firmware. also, i've tried wifi throughout the house and there is no drop in speed or connectibility, works fine. save all your info and try a hard reset, maybe that will alleviate the bug you seem to have encountered. keep posting updates, i sure it can be worked out somehow.

I have ATT Tilt 2 (HTC Touch Pro 2, winmo 6.5), and with new download (1.5.0.15020) today, I tried connecting to my home wi-fi (2 feet away) and could not get a connection at all. First time around the phone got completely locked up and I had to do a soft reset. Still wouldn't connect a 2nd time.
What gives?

i had general wifi issues with an htc fuze running winmo 6.1 when it was brand new. after consulting with htc support they suggested a hard reset as an initial attempt at a fix. after the hard reset, the wifi worked fine, perhaps this will help your problem.
