With SkyFire, I can start to listen to Live365.com streams. It will play for a minute or so and then just stop. If I refresh or hit the play button it will start playing again for another minute. It doesn't matter if I'm connected over WiFi or 3G. Any suggestions as to how to keep it playing would be great.

Thanks
OmahaDave
I'm finding mixed results on my desktop and with Skyfire on my phone. Right now I'm listening to a folk stream through Skyfire that's been running for over 5 minutes. But I couldn't get another stream to work through my desktop browser.

Can you tell us more about your situation? Which phone have you got? How well does live365.com work through your desktop browser?

I am running SkyFire on my N95-4 on AT&T. For most streaming audio sites, like Live365.com, if I install the older beta version .85 on my phone it streams fine. If I install any SkyFire updates after .85, streaming audio will only play for a minute or so. In this situation, why does an old beta version work better than the latest version? Although .85 streams great, it's still unstable and takes for ever to load.

Thanks,
Bob

rwp1156, Skyfire destroys WIFI connection every other minute after screen extinction ON ALL SITES. It is branded bug of Skyfire smile.gif . Apparently it avoids overloading Skyfire's rendering servers.

Skyfire goes dormant after a period of inactivity. This prevents batteries running down when Skyfire is being ignored. Tapping a button every few minutes should keep Skyfire active.

Streaming media playback is not full "inactivity". Skyfire is multimedia-oriented browser wacko.gif

Maybe I do not want to worry about battery huh.gif

It is not comfortable to touch the screen or push buttons every minute in 30C cold cool.gif(Canada, Russia, Scandinavian countries, mountain regions, etc.)

Yeah I'm also having the same problem when listening to radio streams on my 5800. The stream works fine for about 2 minutes then I have to unlock and tap the screen for the stream to start again. It's pretty inconvenient if I'm on the move and my phone is in my pocket. Is there a way to fix this please, as I wouldn't classify live media streaming as 'inactivity'?

Some Nokia users have reported success with a management utility such as Light Control.

Can you give us the URL of the stream you are listening to?

Hi,

These are two streams I tested that it happened on:

Ok just tested a program called Smart Light. Think that does the same as Light Control - makes the back light stay on. This worked and kept the stream going, but cos the back light stays on it drains the battery considerably more and also even with Smart Light I'm unable to lock the keypad without the stream cutting off after 2 minutes.

Some programs (such as Yandex Maps) have their own technology to suppress the extinction of the screen. Is it possible to implement similar technology in Skyfire?
