Well my problem is that after installing the new version ... the browser goes to locating and does nothing else

I use a samsung black jack 2 on the fido network.

Any help or ideas would be great... last version worked perfectly for the last 6 months

Did you uninstall the old version before installing the new one?

Are you installing to the memory of the phone, or to a memory card? Could it be your phone is low on memory?

I have been at this for a few days now to try an d get this running. I had to hard reset my phone, re-instal winmo 6.1. Then I had to run the app unlocker, then run secpolicies cab for this Samsung Blackjack2 to be able to get Skyfire to work. I installed Skyfire to my 8 mg storage card, so no problem with the space, my new problem is that Skyfire will only work for about an hour... then it goes back to locating only , I then have to uninstall and reinstall skyfire for it work... this is very frustrating

Some users find that Skyfire works better when they install to the phone's internal memory rather than the memory card. Please try that and let us know how it goes.

Ok here is the process for us using a Blackjack 2 on the Fido network in Canada.

1. got blackjack2.com
2. down load sda application unlocker
3. down load secpolicies.cab
4. activesync the phone to your PC
5. Run SDA unlocker
6. restart the phone
7.install secpolices.cab onto memory card or phone
8. run secpolices Cab
9. restart phone
10. download Skyfire
11. Install Skyfire

Thanks for that, leadfoot, very specific instructions. So, an earlier version of Skyfire (0.8.5) worked while the new one (0.9) did not (at least, not until you performed the steps you gave)? Why would this be?
