I just want to report that the newest beta version doesn't work on my Nokia E63. The start up screen shows up and then the application just quits after about 10 seconds. Beta version 0.85 works fine, though.

That's interesting. There were some major changes between 0.8.5 and 0.9 in terms of how the Symbian phones are supported. With version 0.9 there is less reliance on third-party libraries. Generally 0.9 has been working better for Nokia users than 0.8.5 did.

What version of Symbian is on your phone, exactly? Have you checked available memory? Are yo installing on the phone's internal memory or on the memory card?

Can anyone else report results, good or bad, with the Nokia E63?

Nokia E63 has Symbian S60 3rd and is a FP1 phone. Available memory is always around 70 MB. I tried installing to both - the memory card and phone memory and the result is identical.

skyfire definitely does not work with nokia e63.. i really want to try it out.. version 0.85 is working but it has usability problems

Same here. Skyfire 0.9 just opens and closes on my Nokia E63. Hope you get a fix for this !

Thanks for that information, everybody. I'm checking with the developers to see where we are at with Nokia E63 support. I don't know why it would have worked with 0.8.5 but not with 0.9. I do know that the libraries were significantly refactored with the 0.9 release.

It doesnt work on the E71x either. The older version did work though.

We finally got the device in-house and could replicate the problem, plus find a fix for it.
We will release an update as soon as our testing is completed, which will be roughly in the next two weeks.

Sorry for the time it took, however without the device it was difficult to get to the bottom of it.

Thanks, Robert. Also, for those using the E71, it is basically the same phone, but with a different set of hardware features, so fixing these problems for the E63 will benefit E71 owners as well.

I'm one of the few Nokia E71-2 users who doesn't seem to have as many problems with the 0.9 version, but any improvement will help, plus I just ordered an E-63 for my son.

Is there any way to get auto notified when the new release is available?

I have the E71x, I cannot get it to work either. Thanks to all involved for promptly finding the solution and working on a fix.

the newest version of skyfire does no work on the E71x,( that is the att branded e71) again that is the e71x. I get it downloaded and it simply shuts down

please help also will 8.5 work on this device?

We have reports that 0.8.5 does work with this device.
