Obviously there are many new winmo skyfire users the last 60 days just like the 500,000 or more new android users since april. f.y.i. for all recent winmo newbies. all of your probs are nothing new to anyone. all of these same exact issues have been going for months. just letting everyone know dont get your hopes up for ANY fix anytime soon. we have been spoon fed the same excuses and cliches since skyfire went to he*l around the beginning of the year. all the same worn out responses. "please fill out personal info so skyfire developers can track the prob." also, "it is server issue because of all newbies and development team is aware of issue." then we are given surveys ?'ing our individual framerate. we just keep getting same recycled answers from dave that a fix is in the works, more or less. in know way am i or most upset with dave. why would we? he is more or less the messenger. i mean he tells us what skyfire wants us to hear and thats it! and why would dave care really anyway. he has recently gone to android like so many. 95% or more of us winmo users with unwatchable a/v are left to be disappointed with NO real solutions ever really discussed. other than we know that they know there is problem. "we are working hard on the fix, please be patient," we have been told since before i joined. 2 wks later us with winmo get the middle-finger with the initial release of droid version. ever since then absolutely no long term improvment. A little honesty would go a long way with alot of us. although most of us with ANY current winmo OS know what's really up. we are more or less out the door before end of year. especially with microsoft all but making official announcment on what exact day in october that the new windows 7 phones will be rolling out. they keep moving up est release date because they see android stealing all their thunder, and their customers as well . especially with adobe's recent announcment of their NEW beta and alpha.

While the focus at the moment is on Android, then iPhone, it doesn't stop there:
QUOTE We will bring Skyfire 2.0 to more operating systems over the next year, after Android and iPhone. The exact sequence will depend in part on discussions underway with potential OEM partners, to embed the SkyBar service on devices “out of the box,” as part of the default browser. http://www.skyfire.com/focus-geography-and-skyfire-1-0/ -------------------- Dave Burchell, community manager

I would have rather seen the company add more servers and beef up existing ones than have them get rid of people in unsupported countries but the bottom line is that they only promised to support certain countries so I can't get too angry with them for that. I can get angry about promises being made and not kept. as I said many times, skyfire boasts how well it can play flash video. Well... it couldn't play flash video well since January of 2010 so I felt they should no longer tout that as a strength until the browser was able to do what it said it could do. Having said that... it appears, with the recent country restrictions in place, that a/v is starting to look decent again. i watched a video last night for about 25 mins. there were a couple times when it got out of sync but it sync'd back up quickly and wasn't so out of sync that you couldn't watch it. for the first time since around January of 2010, i was able to watch a south park episode on my cell phone. It wasn't perfect but it was good enough and good enough is all it has to be. |
